During the last decade as both a landlord and property investor, I’ve had more dealings with lettings and estate agents than I can count. And sadly, most of those experiences followed the same frustrating pattern:

Big promises at the start… followed by disappointing service almost every time.

Slow responses. Poor tenant vetting. Maintenance being ignored. Tenants left waiting for updates. Landlords passed from person to person with no accountability. I often found myself thinking, ‘Surely it can’t be this hard to do things properly?’

Out of sheer frustration, I built a small, reliable team and we started managing our own portfolio. And here’s what we quickly learned:

Offering a great service wasn’t rocket science, it just required carefully thought-out systems, attention to detail and a refusal to compromise on service.

That’s when it dawned on me that most agencies are built for volume, not quality. Their focus on signing on as many properties as they could was compromising the level of service. This resulted in frustrated landlords, underserved tenants, and underperforming properties.

Once we cracked the code, Heliodoor was born.  Extending our services to other landlords like us and offering a boutique, service-driven agency designed to give landlords exactly what they deserve.
